Apple has finally announced the first set of much-awaited Apple Intelligence features for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. The AI features arrive with the release of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1. The suite of AI tools was announced by the tech giant in June.
It is to be noted that Apple Intelligence is available only on iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later, and Mac with M1 and later. Writing Tools is one of the most notable additions to the iPhone with Apple Intelligence. According to the company, Writing Tools allow users to refine their language by rewriting, proofreading, and summarising text virtually everywhere they write, including Mail, Messages, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps.
Apple Intelligence has also been included in the Photos app. The new Clean Up tool helps users remove unwanted objects or people from images. Apple said that new AI features will be available in December, with additional capabilities rolling out in the coming months. “Apple Intelligence builds on years of innovation in AI and machine learning to put Apple’s generative models at the core of our devices, giving our users a personal intelligence system that is easy to use — all while protecting their privacy," said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, in the statement.
