Ministers and Representatives from Member States Gather to Foster Inclusive and Sustainable Digital Economy

Manama, Bahrain: The third general assembly of The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) commenced in Manama, Bahrain, bringing together ministers from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and other member states. This annual gathering serves as a platform for representatives from 15 member states, DCO observers, guest countries, and international organizations to discuss the progress and challenges in advancing the digital economy.

During this significant event, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which marks the organization's three-year milestone, the DCO aims to strengthen efforts in promoting an inclusive and sustainable digital economy. Fostering #DigitalProsperity4All remains at the core of the organization's collective journey towards a world where every country, business, and individual can thrive in the digital realm.

Throughout the transformative year of 2023, the DCO has witnessed successful global participation in leading events and the launch of impactful initiatives and courses. Collaborative efforts with 15 member states and 34 observers and partners have contributed to the progress made in promoting digital growth and development worldwide.

The DCO General Assembly signifies the commitment of member states to drive collective action in shaping the future towards #DigitalProsperity4All. This in-person meeting allows for discussions on strategic directions and initiatives to ensure digital prosperity is accessible to all nations. Ministers and high-level delegations from member states and observers, guest countries, and international organizations convene to address the state of the digital economy and strategize on achieving sustainable and inclusive digital growth.

The 3rd General Assembly of the DCO is being hosted by Bahrain's Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the government entity responsible for regulating the telecommunications sector within the Kingdom. As the Presidency country for 2023, Bahrain plays a crucial role in strengthening international cooperation in advancing the global digital economy.

Established in November 2020, the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) is a global multilateral organization focused on accelerating inclusive growth and digital prosperity for all. With ministries of communications and information technology from 15 member countries, including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cyprus, Djibouti, The Gambia, Ghana, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Rwanda, and Saudi Arabia, the DCO represents a combined GDP of $3.3 trillion and a market of nearly 800 million people, with a significant youth demographic.
