Saudi Arabia Celebrates Founding Day, Emphasizing Unity and Cultural Richness

Riyadh: Today, Saudi Arabia commemorates its Founding Day, a momentous national occasion that showcases the historical establishment of the Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud over three centuries ago. This day serves as a testament to the country's pursuit of unity, stability, and prosperity, as well as the flourishing of its culture and scientific advancements.

King Salman expressed his deep pride on this momentous occasion, stating, "We celebrate with great pride the anniversary of the founding of this blessed state in 1139-1727 Hijri. Since its establishment in 1727, Saudi Arabia has been built on the pillars of peace, stability, and justice."

In recognizing the ancient heritage of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman emphasized the nation's profound historical roots. He remarked, "We possess a wealth of historical depth that connects us with numerous civilizations. While some may perceive the history of the Arabian Peninsula to be relatively short, we are, in fact, an ancient nation."

The achievements of Imam Mohammed bin Saud in establishing the Saudi state have been remarkable. These accomplishments include political stability, independence, the unification of territories, the development of critical infrastructure, sound financial organization, and the protection and encouragement of reformation efforts. The fortifications of Diriyah played a pivotal role in defending the state against external threats.

The establishment of Saudi Arabia unfolded through various stages, starting from the founding of Diriyah in 850H/1446 to the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1351H/1932 under the visionary leadership of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Faisal Al-Saud.

Celebrating the Founding Day aims to honor Saudi Arabia's rich civilization, reinforce the deep bond between its citizens and leaders, highlight the nation's unity, stability, and security, acknowledge the resilience demonstrated by the founding state against adversaries, and appreciate King Abdulaziz's achievements in promoting unity and national development.
