Sheikh Hamdan Chairs Meeting Of MBRSC's Board Of Directors
|Sheikh Hamdan reviewed strategic plans for the development and launch of satellites under the UAE Satellite Programme
Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai and the Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, said that the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) continues to play a vital role in inspiring Emirati missions and projects within the space sector. Sheikh Hamdan recently chaired a meeting of the MBRSC Board of Directors, during which the Crown Prince was briefed on the Centre's ambitious future programmes and missions.
The Crown Prince also highlighted that MBRSC is significantly involved in the development of the UAE's technological capabilities. Sheikh Hamdan, also the President of the MBRSC, reviewed strategic plans for the development and launch of satellites under the UAE Satellite Programme. These include MBZ-SAT and HCT-SAT 1. It is worth mentioning that MBZ-SAT, the most advanced satellite in the region, is slated for launch by October this year. Meanwhile, HCT-SAT 1 is being developed in collaboration with the students of the Higher Colleges of Technology under the guidance of MBRSC engineers.

“Our strategic vision for developing and launching advanced technology and missions is not merely about reaching new heights in the space sector, but about inspiring a whole generation to dream big and aim higher," added Sheikh Hamdan. Following the board meeting, Sheikh Hamdan also met UAE astronauts Mohammad AlMulla and Nora AlMatrooshi.
