UAE Introduces Phase Two Of ‘University Certificates Recognition’ System

The Ministry of Education (MoE) of the United Arab Emirates has introduced the second phase of the ‘University Certificates Recognition’ system for degrees issued by foreign higher education institutions (HEIs). More than 60,000 students in foreign HEIs are likely to benefit from the new system updates in 2024, as students will receive faster and more efficient digital services that will help them complete their academic studies or enter the labour market easily.
The first phase of the project, which was launched last year, significantly reduced customer complaints and improved customer satisfaction. Additionally, the project halved the steps required for certificate recognition and decreased the number of documents needed to recognise foreign HEIs certificates by up to 85%.
Building on the Ministry's ongoing efforts to improve its services, we are pleased to announce the launch of the second phase of the "Recognition System for Certificates” issued by foreign universities.

“The amendments in the second phase aim to facilitate the recognition criteria for university certificates issued by foreign HEIs, allowing for more academic specialisations," said Dr Hassan AlSayegh, advisor to the MoE. Dr Hassan AlSayegh also emphasized that the initiative has shown positive outcomes that align with the objectives of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.
