Indian Hajj Mission Makes Preparations To Move To Mina For Hajj 2024
India has once again led the way in Hajj transportation, becoming the first country to utilize a high-speed train to transport around 33,000 pilgrims from Jeddah Terminal 1 to Makkah Railway Station
Makkah: Almost all 175,000 Indian pilgrims have safely arrived in Makkah and are set to begin their journey to the holy sites of Mina from the evening of June 13. This year marks a significant milestone as, for the first time ever, an overwhelming number of Haj Committee of India (HCoI) pilgrims, totaling 140,020, have been accommodated in hotels within the preferred area of Markazia in Madina, reaching an impressive 95 percent allocation.
In another remarkable development, all HCoI pilgrims will now be accommodated within the traditional boundary of Mina. They will be provided with delectable, freshly cooked meals, ensuring a comfortable and fulfilling pilgrimage experience.
India has once again led the way in Hajj transportation, becoming the first country to utilize a high-speed train to transport around 33,000 pilgrims from Jeddah Terminal 1 to Makkah Railway Station. With speeds reaching 300 km per hour, this innovative approach has significantly reduced travel time and enhanced convenience for pilgrims.
Haj 2024 has witnessed the highest number of ladies without a male Mehram, surpassing 5,000 in count. To address this, exclusive attention has been given to setting up separate buildings, branches, hospitals, dispensaries, and more, staffed by female officials who are dedicated to the care and support of these women.
The 'Haj Suvidha App' is a new technological addition to empower pilgrims. This app not only disseminates important information but also addresses grievances, ensuring pilgrims receive prompt assistance, including any SOS situations.
To ensure the health and well-being of the Indian pilgrims, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sent a proficient contingent of doctors and paramedics. In response to demand, the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) has increased the number of ambulances on hand, greatly benefiting all pilgrims. Furthermore, the provision of dental care and the availability of psychiatric support within the medical contingent have been highly appreciated additions.
India is the only country, among those with major quotas of pilgrims, that offers round-the-clock bus services for Hajj pilgrims between their accommodations in Makkah and the main mosque. This thoughtful provision has garnered widespread appreciation from both Indian pilgrims and Saudi authorities.
The Indian Haj Mission remains highly regarded for its commitment to the welfare and care of its pilgrims. MoMA has reinforced the strength of its administrative officials, who play an integral role in ensuring the ongoing success of Hajj operations for 2024.
