Qatar Airways Wins Skytrax's 'Airline Of The Year' Title 

Qatar Airways has secured the ‘Airline of the Year’ title from Skytrax. This is the eighth time since 2011 that Qatar Airways has been bestowed with the prestigious award. Notably, the Skytrax World Airline Awards are widely regarded as ‘the Oscars of the aviation industry’.

Apart from the ‘Airline of the Year’ title, the carrier also received three additional awards, including ‘World's Best Business Class’, ‘World's Best Business Class Airline Lounge’, and ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’. Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways’ home and hub, was recently named ‘World’s Best Airport’ in 2024 by Skytrax. At the same time, Qatar Duty Free also received ‘World's Best Airport Shopping’ for the second consecutive year. In a statement released on June 24, Qatar Airways mentioned that it is the first aviation group to win Best Airline, Best Airport, and Best Airport Shopping in the same year in the history of Skytrax.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Airline of the Year winner, Singapore Airlines, was ranked No 2 this year, with Emirates in third place. ANA All Nippon Airways secured fourth place, and Cathay Pacific came in fifth place, out of more than 350 airlines included in the survey results. It is worth mentioning that AirAsia won the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline award, a title it has won each year since 2010.
