UAE's MBZ-SAT Successfully Launched From California
The satellite will be operated and managed by the Mission Control Centre at MBRSC
UAE's MBZ-SAT, the region's most advanced observation satellite, has been successfully launched on Tuesday evening from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in the US state of California. The launch marks a significant milestone in the UAE's journey towards space exploration.
Entirely developed by Emirati engineers at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), the satellite has twice the imaging accuracy of its predecessors, ten times more imagery, and rapid data delivery within two hours. MBZ-SAT has a total mass of 750 kg and dimensions of 3m x 5m.
The satellite is equipped with advanced electric propulsion, precise navigation, and a high-resolution camera, and it will be able to deliver precision in imaging locations, which supports applications like environmental monitoring, infrastructure management, and disaster relief. The satellite will be operated and managed by the Mission Control Centre at MBRSC, with specialised teams handling operations and analysing the data transmitted to Earth.
