Dubai is planning to introduce battery charging and swapping stations for electric bikes in the delivery sector. As part of the plan, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has invited the companies and business community across the emirate to participate in a tender for constructing the facility.

RTA's new initiative is aimed at encouraging delivery companies to adopt electric bikes as an eco-friendly transport solution. In a statement released on Tuesday, Dubai RTA noted that the proposed stations will be strategically located in major operational areas for the delivery sector. This includes prominent locations such as Al Barsha, Al Rigga, Zabeel, Al Mamzar, and others. Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the Licensing Agency at RTA, said that the delivery sector had experienced rapid growth in the recent years, with over 40,000 registered bikes now in operation.
