The debate over whether US President Joe Biden should withdraw from the presidential race is ongoing. Amid the debates, as per a new survey, nearly two-thirds of Democrats say President Joe Biden should withdraw from the race. The survey, from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, indicates that Biden should allow his party to select a different nominee for the upcoming election.

According to the latest survey, taken from July 11 to 15, only 3 in 10 Democrats are extremely or very confident that Joe Biden has the mental capability to serve effectively as president. This means Biden is facing increasing pressure from members of his own party. Notably, three-quarters of Democrats under the age of 45 want Joe Biden to drop out. The AP-NORC poll indicates that only 37% of Democrats are satisfied with Biden as their nominee.

The findings mainly highlight the challenges currently faced by the 81-year-old Biden. On the other hand, 60% of Republicans are extremely or very confident that Donald Trump has the mental capability to serve effectively as US president. At the same time, Biden said in a recent interview with BET News that he might reconsider his decision to stay in the presidential race if a “medical condition” emerged. "If doctors came to me and said, you got this problem and that problem," Biden said in the interview.
