Abu Dhabi Secures Growth In Consumer Rights And Brand Protection Indicators In 2024

The Abu Dhabi Registration and Licensing Authority (ADRA) has marked notable growth in key indicators related to consumer and commercial protection during the last year. The rate of consumer complaints against economic establishments rose to 90% of the total in 2024 compared to 83.4% in 2023. Meanwhile, the estimated total value of goods and services of the reported complaints was AED 26.3 million.
The authority also conducted field visits to commercial establishments and sales outlets in various locations across the emirate to ensure compliance with laws and rules regulating the commercial activities. There were 251,083 field visits last year, which is 4.5% more than the 240,229 visits in 2023. During the field visits, 7,951 warnings and 3,081 violations were issued, and 53 closure cases were reported. The Abu Dhabi Media Office reported that the estimated value of goods and products not meeting the criteria stipulated by rules and regulations is AED 40.8 million.
