Apple's Foldable iPhone May Debut Next Year
The foldable phone expected to feature a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover screen.

The long-awaited foldable iPhone may arrive soon. According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026. In a post on Medium, Ming-Chi Kuo noted that the book-style device may arrive with a price tag that ranges between $2,000 (roughly Rs. 1,74,100) and $2,500 (roughly Rs. 2,17,700).
The foldable phone, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold smartphones, may feature a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover screen. The analyst also predicted that Touch ID will return as a side button in this device, as Face ID may be absent due to thickness and internal space constraints. Ming-Chi Kuo noted that the final specifications are set to be locked in in the second quarter of this year, with the project officially kicking off in the third quarter.
Mass production of the foldable iPhone will follow just over a year later in the fourth quarter of next year, suggesting a release at the end of 2026 or the start of 2027. Apple is the only major phone brand without a foldable device in its portfolio. The new device will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Google Pixel Fold, Huawei Mate X, and others.
