Doha: In celebration of World Mental Health Day 2024, the Ras Laffan Community Outreach Program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, organized a series of educational and awareness activities focused on mental health and worker safety.

The events, held at Al Khor Sports Club, brought together more than 870 workers from 14 companies operating in northern Qatar. These activities aimed to promote awareness of mental health guidelines, highlighting the impact of mental health on worker well-being, productivity, and the importance of mental health awareness for road safety.

The event featured a range of educational sessions, including "Mental Health in Daily Life," "Mental Health Exercises," and "Health Tips for Workers." Specialized sessions were also conducted, such as "The Impact of Drugs on Mental Health" by the General Directorate of Drug Enforcement and "Mental Health for Road Users" by the General Directorate of Traffic.

Sheikha Al Anoud Al Thani, Head of Media Studies at the Ministry of Interior’s Public Relations Department, underscored the significance of these events, which align with the Ministry's strategic goal to enhance communication between workers and the community, while raising awareness about mental health. She emphasized that mental health is a cornerstone for workers’ psychological and physical stability.

Sheikha Dana Al Thani, Head of the Ras Laffan Community Outreach Program, also highlighted the program’s continued dedication to supporting cultural and community initiatives across all sectors of society, particularly for workers who form an essential part of the local community. She commended the efforts to involve workers in both local and international events.
