Dubai Launches Commercial And Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030
The move aims to strengthen the emirate's global competitiveness as a leading financial, business, and economic hub
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled the Dubai Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030. This significant initiative mainly aims to double the direct contribution of the land transport and logistics sector to Dubai's economy to AED16.8 billion. It is worth mentioning that the strategy has been approved by the Dubai Executive Council.
As part of the strategy, 17 projects have been identified, and these projects will contribute to supporting the sector's and companies' growth. With this project, the emirate also aims to increase the rate of technology adoption in the infrastructure by 75%, reduce carbon emissions by 30%, and improve operational efficiency by 10%. The list of projects to be implemented in the future includes developing digital platforms supporting the commercial transport and logistics sector, heavy freight services platform, construction equipment rental platform, road freight data centre, and updates to heavy and light truck fleets.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, said that this move aims to strengthen the emirate's global competitiveness as a leading financial, business, and economic hub. Mattar Al Tayer also added that the strategy focuses on regulating and governing the commercial transport sector in Dubai and seeks to identify prospects for investment and partnerships with the private sector.
