Riyadh - The Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), has announced their forthcoming decrees aimed at generating more than 16,000 job opportunities for Saudi nationals in the engineering sector. Al Eqtisadiah, a leading local newspaper, reported the news highlighting the government's commitment to Saudiizing engineering professions.

According to the daily business publication, the ministries will sign agreements with several private sector entities to implement these government decrees, effectively driving the localization efforts in the engineering field.

It is anticipated that these decrees will lead to the creation of over 8,000 jobs in the engineering sector itself, while an additional 8,000 jobs will be made available in engineering technical professions. The Saudiization rates for establishments employing five or more engineers or technicians are set at 25% and 30%, respectively.

These initiatives aim to increase employment opportunities for Saudi nationals in the engineering sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of the country. By prioritizing the hiring of local talent, the government is actively working towards reducing the unemployment rate and enhancing the skill development and career prospects of Saudi citizens.
