EURO 2024 To Kick Off With Germany Vs Scotland

UEFA EURO 2024 is all set to kick off in Munich on Friday. A total of 24 teams are competing in the 17th edition of the European Championship with the aim of taking the crown away from reigning champions Italy. Germany, the host nation, will face Scotland in the opening match. Germany is hosting a major international tournament for the first time since the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Among the teams, Georgia is playing at the Euros for the first time. Teams will be divided into six groups, consisting of four teams each, for the month-long event. The group stage of the tournament will be held until June 26. The top two teams from each group, along with the best four third-placed sides, will advance to the round of 16, which will be held from June 29 to July 2. Winners from this round will proceed to the quarterfinals, followed by the semifinals. The final will be held on July 14 at Berlin's Olympiastadion.

The host cities of the prestigious tournament include Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Munich. Meanwhile, Albart is the mascot for Euro 2024. Mascots have been part of the Euros since 1980.
