Life Expectancy In Saudi Arabia Rises To 78.8 Years, Says Health Ministry
The ministry said that it reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare quality.

Saudi Arabia's health ministry said that life expectancy in the country rose from 74 years in 2016 to 78.8 years in 2024. The ministry said that it reflects the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare quality and strengthen preventive measures. The efforts are part of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, the healthcare system intensified targeted initiatives and awareness campaigns to promote healthy habits, encourage walking, and support daily wellness practices, reported Saudi Press Agency. Saudi Arabia has also implemented health and nutrition reforms in cooperation with various government entities. This includes banning hydrogenated oils, reducing salt content in foods, and mandating calorie disclosure on food products and in restaurants, all of which contribute to improved public health and a reduction in chronic diseases. Notably, these measures are reportedly paving the way toward the strategic goal of raising life expectancy to 80 years by 2030.
