The Paris Olympic Games are just weeks away, and the UAE National Olympic Committee has announced the official delegation of the country for the prestigious event. The UAE delegation comprises 14 athletes, accompanied by 24 administrative, technical, and medical staff. Notably, Omar Al Marzouqi will be the country’s flagbearer during the opening ceremony. The 2024 Paris Olympics is set to begin on July 26.

The UAE athletes will compete in five sports, including judo, equestrian, cycling, swimming, and athletics. The Olympic Committee made this announcement during a press conference at the Shindagha Museum in Dubai. The committee also revealed the inauguration of the UAE House, which will be located on Rue Cambon in Paris. The UAE House will be open daily from July 27 to August 11, from 10 AM to 8 PM, featuring a wide range of activities and events. The official uniform of the participating UAE delegation and the promotional logo used on the official attire of the mission were also revealed during the press conference.

The UAE is participating in the Olympics for the eleventh time. In the 2004 Athens Olympics, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hasher Al Maktoum won the gold medal in double trap shooting, which is the first medal ever by an athlete from the UAE. The country's second medal came during the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics, when Sergio Toma won the bronze medal in men’s half-middleweight judo.
