Qatar Airways will soon unveil the complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi onboard. The airline announced that three Boeing 777-300 aircraft will initially receive Starlink’s Wi-Fi connectivity by the fourth quarter of 2024. Passengers will be able to access ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi of up to 500 megabits per second per plane. Qatar Airways is also planning to extend SpaceX-powered technology across its entire modern fleet within the next two years.
The significant announcement took place on the second day of the Aircraft Interior Expo in Germany. The airline mentioned in its statement that passengers will be able to use a high-speed and low-latency network with a simple ‘one-click-access’ to enjoy several internet-based services, including video streaming and online gaming. Qatar Airways also claimed that it was the first leading airline in the MENA region to introduce this service.
