Dubai Municipality has commenced field inspections and intensified monitoring campaigns to ensure public health and food safety during Ramadan. The inspections cover markets, malls, food establishments, food warehouses, restaurants, bakeries, hypermarkets, hotels, salons, beauty centres, cafes, gaming areas, and labour accommodations.
Moreover, authorities have strengthened food safety controls at ports of entry, facilitating the release of food shipments while conducting sampling of high-consumption Ramadan products to verify safety and quality. Apart from inspections, awareness campaigns and educational workshops have also been conducted.
"These measures guarantee that all residents have access to safe, high-quality food while proactively safeguarding the community from potential health risks," said Dr Naseem Mohammed Rafee, Acting CEO of the Environment, Health and Safety Agency at Dubai Municipality. Meanwhile, the municipality has also issued permits to over 100 licensed establishments hosting Ramadan tents and outdoor events.
