Riyadh To Host The Pioneering Global AI Summit
The summit is expected to witness the unveiling of 70 agreements and the launch of 25 groundbreaking initiatives.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The Saudi capital is gearing up for the third edition of the Global AI Summit, a major event in the field of artificial intelligence, set to take place from September 10 to 12. The summit, organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is expected to witness the unveiling of 70 agreements and the launch of 25 groundbreaking initiatives.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of SDAIA, highlighted during a conversation with Al-Eqtisadiah at the conference that the majority of these agreements would be international, with around 50 agreements planned. “The summit is a global platform, and the opportunity to announce these impactful agreements is open to all participants,” remarked Dr. Al-Ghamdi.
In a significant development, the summit will also announce the establishment of the world’s first office for artificial intelligence ethics in Riyadh in collaboration with UNESCO. “Saudi Arabia has been at the forefront of AI ethics, and this new office is a testament to our commitment in this vital area,” Dr. Al-Ghamdi added.
Dr. Issam Al-Waqit, Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA, expressed the summit's ambitious vision: “Through the Artificial Intelligence Summit, we are embarking on a new era to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence further.”
Echoing the need for regulatory measures, Dr. Yasser Al-Anizan, CEO of the National Center for Artificial Intelligence, noted, “The rapid evolution in AI necessitates stringent controls on its applications and outputs.”
The summit is set to attract over 300 speakers, experts, and decision-makers from around 100 countries, discussing strategic approaches to leveraging AI. Topics will include enhancing decision-making processes, supporting responsible leadership, measuring AI’s impact on business growth and productivity, and fostering an innovative work environment that aligns with the aspirations of business leaders.
Organized by SDAIA, the Global AI Summit will not only showcase Saudi Arabia’s leadership in AI but also offer a forum to explore global experiences and the latest developments in AI technologies. This initiative is particularly focused on helping business leaders grasp the fast-paced evolution of AI and its implications for boosting production through strategic decision-making.
