Saudi Arabia has recently announced the localization of rose cultivation and production. The country made this decision to meet the surging demand in local markets, create new job opportunities in the agricultural sector, and address the high cost and lower quality of imported roses.

The Kingdom's latest move also aims to open markets for exporting Saudi roses to Gulf and Middle Eastern countries, contributing to the agricultural sector's growth in line with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has revealed numerous incentives to support the growth and development of the sector. The ministry also offers suitable agricultural land for rose projects at encouraging prices, investment opportunities that leverage the comparative advantages of roses, and loans covering 70% of project costs.

Moreover, the ministry also provides technical support for rose cultivation and production projects, along with automation of licensing processes. Additionally, the ministry also noted the possibility of using modern technologies for cultivation, such as hydroponic farming, in addition to the use of smart systems to help lower labor and production costs.
