Saudi Arabia To Build 92,000-Seat King Salman Stadium By 2029

Saudi Arabia has unveiled the designs and plans for the highly anticipated King Salman Stadium. The stadium, with a seating capacity of 92,000, is set to serve as the Saudi national team's main headquarters and host major sporting events. It is worth mentioning that the design of the stadium and its sporting facilities has been approved, and the project is scheduled for completion in the last quarter of 2029.
According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report, the King Salman Stadium will be situated in northern Riyadh and will be near major city sites, including the King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh Metro station, and major roadways. The report also mentioned that the design of the stadium was selected from among several designs submitted by six specialized international firms.

The architectural design of the main stadium includes green walls and ceilings spanning over 96,500 square meters. The stadium and its sporting facilities, covering over 660,000 square meters, will include several amenities for various sports activities, including commercial centres and recreational areas. Moreover, the stadium will also include a 150-seat royal suite, 120 hospitality suites, 300 VIP seats, and 2,200 dignitary seats. The general plan of the project includes multiple surrounding sports facilities like two training fields, fan zones, a closed sports hall, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and an athletics track.
