Saudi Arabia's flynas Signs Agreement With Airbus To Purchase 160 Aircraft

Saudi Arabia's flynas is set to buy 160 new aircraft from Airbus. The landmark agreement, which was signed at Farnborough Airshow in London, comprises 30 wide-body A330neo aircraft and 130 narrow-body A320 family aircraft. The latest deal will double the airline's total orders to 280 aircraft.
In a statement released on July 25, flynas said that the move cements its status as one of the top four low-cost airlines worldwide. Currently, the airline operates over 70 domestic and international routes with more than 1500 weekly flights. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said that the deal is pivotal for achieving the National Civil Aviation Strategy’s goal to connect Saudi Arabia with over 250 international destinations and increase passenger traffic to 330 million annually by 2030.

"Notably, this is our first order for the wide-body A330neo with Airbus, with deliveries starting in 2027. This will enable us to explore new long-haul markets, offer more seat capacity, with diverse and innovative products to our passengers," said flynas CEO and Managing Director Bander Almohanna. The flynas CEO also emphasized that the fleet expansion will also create numerous direct and indirect job opportunities.
