SDAIA Partners With NVIDIA To Strengthen Saudi Arabia's AI Capabilities
The major announcement was made during the ongoing Global AI Summit, which began Tuesday in Riyadh.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) announced its plan to cooperate with tech giant NVIDIA to enable developers to more easily build and deploy artificial intelligence (AI) applications using the "ALLaM" Arabic language model. The major announcement was made during the ongoing Global AI Summit, which began Tuesday in Riyadh.
The collaboration allows the ALLaM model to benefit from the NVIDIA NeMo platform, part of NVIDIA's AI software, to train language models and make them available to users while implementing safeguards to ensure system security, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The collaboration also aims to improve the model's effectiveness and expand its capabilities by leveraging NVIDIA's advanced technological expertise.
As per the report, SDAIA will also work closely with US-based NVIDIA to strengthen its supercomputing infrastructure. Additionally, there are plans that include establishing one of the largest high-performance data centers in the Middle East and North Africa by enhancing the existing infrastructure of SDAIA's NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD. The expansion will integrate NVIDIA's most advanced technologies, eventually reaching over 5,000 GPUs, opening new horizons for digital innovation and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
