UAE President Designates February 28 As Emirati Day For Education

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared February 28 as the Emirati Day for Education. This day honours the key role of education in the UAE’s development and progress and its contribution to the growth of society and the nation’s cultural renaissance.
"On this day in 1982, our Founding Father the late Sheikh Zayed witnessed the graduation of the first batch of teachers from UAE University, marking a historic step on the UAE’s journey of development and growth," wrote the UAE President in a post on X on Monday. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that strengthening the foundations of education and continually raising its profile has been a top priority for the country since its inception and throughout all stages of its development, reported Emirates News Agency.

It is to be noted that the universities in the UAE earlier made significant achievements in the global rankings. The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) had ranked 1st in UAE, 2nd in GCC, and 38th globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2023.
