UAE Public Prosecution Develops AI-Supported Work System

The Federal Public Prosecution of UAE announced on Thursday the development of an innovative digital system based on artificial intelligence to improve and expedite its procedures. This system, which is the first of its kind in the country, has been specifically developed to support the UAE's criminal legal system, with the ability to adapt it to work in various legal systems around the world.

The new digital system relies on AI technology in its design and development to support work mechanisms, enhance the efficiency of investigation procedures, and provide legal support to ensure precise and effective judicial decisions. The system features the ability to conduct precise legal research, including analysing and reorganising the facts of criminal cases, making annotations on images, audio recordings, and video clips, as well as transcribing them. It also has the capacity to retrieve information and legal principles and link them to case facts and criminal precedents instantly.

The announcement of the initiative follows a cooperation and partnership agreement signed by the Federal Public Prosecution with AI71, a leading firm in developing AI solutions for governmental and private sectors, reported Emirates News Agency. The latest project is part of the Federal Public Prosecution's strategic plan, which adopts the application of advanced technologies and AI.
