Yas Island And Saadiyat Island Register Record Number Of Visitors In 2023
Theme parks and CLYMB at Yas Island witnessed a surge of 83 percent in 2023 compared to 2022.
Miral has announced that Yas Island and Saadiyat Island has registered record visitor numbers in 2023. Yas Island recorded more than 34 million visits last year, which indicates a rise of 38 percent compared to 2022. Saadiyat Island visitor numbers increased by 44 percent compared to 2022. Miral has revealed the visitor numbers at the ongoing Arabian Travel Market 2024.
Theme parks and CLYMB at Yas Island witnessed a surge of 83 percent in 2023 compared to 2022. Notably, visitor numbers from the GCC grew by 125 percent. The theme parks across Yas Island saw a significant 167 percent increase in international visits. It is primarily driven by travellers from India, the UK, Russia, and Germany. Yas Island’s consumer events also registered an increase, as more than 560,000 visitors attended concerts, performances, and family and sports events. During June to August, hotels on Yas Island saw a 90% occupancy rate, indicating major growth.

Yas Island is also set to feature new developments. This includes the 16,900-square metre expansion to Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, and a Harry Potter theme park. "These record-breaking figures reiterate our commitment to positioning Yas Island as a global destination for entertainment and leisure, and Saadiyat Island as a leading beach, nature and cultural destination," said Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral.
