Details of Cabinet decision on setting Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha holidays

Riyadh: The official gazette Umm Al-Qura recently published the details of the Cabinet's decision regarding the holidays for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha. According to the published information on January 26, the holidays are now set to be a minimum of four business days and a maximum of five business days.

Under this decision, government agencies that follow the labor plan and have independent and approved administrative regulations are required to make amendments to their regulations. This ensures that Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha holidays are observed for a minimum of four business days and a maximum of five business days. For agencies whose employees are subject to the labor law, the decision should be applied to all employees.

In the case of agencies with employees subject to multiple laws, the decision is to be applied only to those employees who are subject to the labor law. This decision aims to provide clarity and consistency in determining the duration of holidays during these important Islamic occasions. It ensures that both employees and employers have a clear understanding of the official holiday period for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha.
