The Closing Festival of the “Year of the Camel” Kicks Off in Riyadh Tomorrow

Riyadh - Tomorrow marks the beginning of the closing festival for the “Year of the Camel 2024”, organized by the Ministry of Culture at Laysen Valley in Riyadh. Spanning three days, this event celebrates camels as cultural icons and an integral part of Saudi Arabia’s heritage. The festival will be a lively celebration that places a spotlight on initiatives, milestones and events that have amplified the cultural significance of camels and their legacy throughout 2024. It is also designed to engage children, families and tourists through fun activities and experiences.

During the opening day of the festival, there will be many unique activities, most notably the “Camel Trails Parade.” It will be a grand camel parade and spectacle that embodies the authenticity of Saudi heritage as well as the remarkable history and cultural value of camels. Another highlight is “Al-Wajna,” a visually stunning 3D exhibit that showcases the beauty of camels in their natural setting.

Visitors can also enjoy “Camp Hump”, a unique area where guests can embark on camel-back journeys. They can also head to the “Light Projection” show where they will get to see a breathtaking visual experience that celebrates the timeless connection between camels and humans. The festival will also feature a dedicated pavilion for the “Year of the Camel,” offering visitors a cultural journey through the year’s most notable initiatives. Along with that, the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language will also participate with an interactive pavilion which will highlight the cultural and historical significance of camels in Arab heritage and their profound role as a cornerstone of Saudi Culture.

Beyond the pavilions, when it comes to families, they can enjoy the “Mazyouna Initiative”, an engaging experience where children can take part in creative activities including painting, photography and interactive games.

Adding to the excitement, there will be live performances by skilled artisans who will showcase their traditional camel-related crafts, reflecting their exceptional skills.

For food enthusiasts, the festival includes a dedicated food court home to restaurants and cafes catering to all tastes along with vibrant vendors selling camel-related products.

The three-day celebration at Layen Valley is not just a festival—it’s a cultural milestone.
