"This Will Truly Be The Golden Age Of America," Says Donald Trump
Donald Trump would be just the second president ever to leave the White House and then win it back.
Donald Trump has secured enough electoral votes to become the 47th president of the United States. The Republican nominee defeated Kamala Harris and captured the White House after an intense battle. This is the second time the 78-year-old Republican has won the White House race. As of 3:00 pm IST, Trump has won 267 electoral votes, while outgoing vice president Kamala Harris was at a distant 224.
"This will truly be the golden age of America. It will make America great again. There was no other path to victory. We will make you proud of your vote," said Donald Trump at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, surrounded by members of his family and campaign staff. Donald Trump also said that his campaign "overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible" during his bid for the White House.
Donald Trump would be just the second president ever to leave the White House and then win it back. Reports suggest that Donald Trump could be on track for a clean sweep of the seven swing states needed to win the presidency, and he might even win the overall popular vote nationally.
