TikTok To Shut Down Its Music Streaming Service In November
TikTok Music will go offline on November 28
TikTok is set to end its subscription streaming service, TikTok Music. The company said in a post on its website that TikTok Music will go offline on November 28. The service is ending without ever having reached the United States, as it was available only in Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Singapore, and Australia.
According to the company, subscribers can continue to use TikTok Music until November 28, after which renewals will be automatically canceled. Users who need to transfer their playlists to other services are required to do so by October 28, and refund requests would need to be submitted by November 28. The website also mentioned that the account information and personal data of users will be deleted automatically following the closure of TikTok Music.
TikTok Music was rooted in a ByteDance product called Resso. In 2023, ByteDance rebranded Resso to TikTok Music, reported TechCrunch. Reports indicate that TikTok now aims to focus on partnerships with established streaming services.
