Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's new national airline, has announced that it has signed a nine-year strategic agreement with Atlético de Madrid to rename the Spanish club's stadium to Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium. The official unveiling of the stadium's new name is scheduled to take place on October 20 during the upcoming match. The agreement between Riyadh Air and Atlético de Madrid will be valid until 2033.

Riyadh Air became the club's main sponsor in August 2023 and will now serve as the naming partner for one of Europe’s most modern and iconic stadiums. During the first year of sponsorship, the Riyadh Air logo has been featured on the front of the men's first team kits in all domestic and international matches. According to an official statement released by the club, the final installation of the new name of the stadium on the main, northeast, and southeast facades will take place in the next few weeks.

"Both organizations are driven to succeed at the highest level and having our name on such an iconic stadium will elevate the awareness of Riyadh Air across the sporting world and beyond," said Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, in a statement.
