Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a bus pooling initiative enabling passengers to share minibus rides through a booking system on smart apps. The service will be initially available in Deira, connecting to central business districts such as Business Bay, Dubai Mall, Mirdif, and Dubai Festival City. Service will be gradually expanded to cover the entire emirate.

The service operates without fixed routes, unlike public buses. According to Dubai Media Office, the seating capacity of the buses ranges between (13) to (30) passengers. Notably, the fare will be variable, based on the distance travelled and demand for the service. Moreover, the service provides passengers with options for single trips or weekly and monthly subscriptions. Bookings will be facilitated through three smart applications, including Citylink Shuttle, DrivenBus, and Fluxx Daily.

“This initiative, aims to attract new segments of the community by offering a fast and convenient transport option that, in many cases, eliminates reliance on private vehicles," said Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, in the statement. This initiative aims to deliver a convenient, rapid, and innovative transportation solution for residents and visitors.
