Hajj Season 2024 Kicks Off With The First Group Of Pilgrims Arriving From India
A comprehensive array of resources have been deployed, including 7,700 flights operating across six airports and over 27,000 buses to facilitate movement during the pilgrimage
Madinah: Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser warmly welcomed the first batch of pilgrims arriving from India on a Saudia Airlines flight, marking the initiation of the Hajj season. The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the transport and logistics sector to ensure a smooth and enriching Hajj experience, following the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He emphasized their goal of enabling pilgrims to complete their sacred journey and return home with cherished memories of comfort and safety.
Al-Jasser provided insights into the extensive preparations made to accommodate the influx of pilgrims. A comprehensive array of resources have been deployed, including 7,700 flights operating across six airports and over 27,000 buses to facilitate movement during the pilgrimage. Additionally, pilgrims will have access to the efficient Haramain High-Speed Railway and the Al-Mashaaer Al-Mugaddassah Metro Line, which will conduct over 5,000 trips throughout the Hajj season to assist pilgrims in performing their rituals smoothly.
Accompanying Minister Al-Jasser at Madinah Airport was Ambassador Dr. Suhail Khan, who joined him along with Vice Haj Minister, Dr. Abdul-Fattah Mashat, in warmly receiving the first flight of Indian pilgrims in the early morning of May 9.
Highlighting the thoroughness of preparations, Saudi Transport Minister Salih Al Jasir told MediaOne TV that all ministries in Saudi Arabia are fully prepared and coordinating their efforts for Hajj. Speaking after the reception of the first Hajj group in Madinah, he expressed that Hajj is an emotionally significant moment for believers. With all Saudi airports now accepting pilgrims, the government has ensured a comprehensive plan to manage the influx and provide a seamless experience for all pilgrims.
Furthermore, Ambassador Suhail Ajaz Khan, speaking to MediaOne TV, stated that the Indian Hajj Mission is fully ready to serve pilgrims with various systems. As the Hajj rush commences, the mission is fully dedicated to ensuring the well-being and convenience of the pilgrims. In an interview with Madinah, Ambassador Khan emphasized their commitment to offering assistance with all pilgrim services.
