Meta's Llama-3-powered AI chatbot is now available to all users in India. Users will be able to access the AI assistant on Meta platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. Apart from the apps, the tool is also available through the meta.ai website. The tech giant started testing Meta AI in the country in April by rolling it out to select users. Meta's move comes a week after Google launched its Gemini app in India with support for nine local languages.

The functionality of Meta AI is similar to that of other chatbots, including Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. According to a blog post published by Meta, users can access Meta AI when they are scrolling through their Facebook Feed. Users will be able to ask questions related to the post. For example, if a user sees a photo of the northern lights in Iceland, they can ask Meta AI what time of year is best to check out the northern lights.

"With our most powerful large language model under the hood, Meta AI is better than ever," added the company in the post. With the new update, users will see a blue-pink ring in the search bar of the Meta platforms. Initially, the feature will be available in English. The chatbot has rolled out in several countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore.
