Oman Air Appoints Con Korfiatis As New CEO
Oman Air mentioned that Con Korfiatis is set to steer the airline's ongoing transformation, which aims to turn the airline’s financial operations around.
Oman Air has named Con Korfiatis as the airline’s Chief Executive Officer. Saeed Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information and Chairman of Oman Air, along with the company’s Board of Directors, announced this important decision.
In a statement released on May 2, Oman Air described Con Korfiatis as a highly accomplished leader with over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. Oman Air also mentioned that Con Korfiatis is set to steer the airline's ongoing transformation, which aims to turn the airline’s financial operations around. “Con’s professional background, coupled with his expertise in organizational transformation and strategy development, make him the perfect fit to lead Oman Air through this crucial phase of its transformation," said Saeed Al Mawali in the statement.

Hamoud Al Maawali also added that the company have full confidence in the ability of Con Korfiatis to steer the airline towards sustainable, long-term success while guiding it through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Con Korfiatis three-decade-long career includes numerous CEO appointments across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. He also made significant accomplishments including founding four start-up initiatives in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Singapore and China. Prior to Com Korfiatis’s appointment, Nasser Al Salmi was Oman Air’s Acting CEO.
