Riyadh Witnessed Over 200 Million Delivery Orders in Saudi Arabia in the Past Year
37 Firms, 200 Million Orders: Inside Saudi Arabia's Thriving Delivery Industry
In an exciting development for the delivery sector, Riyadh alone accounted for a staggering 200 million delivery orders across Saudi Arabia in the previous year, as revealed by Saleh Al-Zuwayed, the spokesperson for the Transport General Authority (TGA), in an interview with Asharq News.
Riyadh led the pack in terms of delivery orders, followed closely by Jeddah and other cities in the Kingdom. This significant volume of deliveries highlights the growing reliance on delivery services in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Zuwayed emphasized that the Kingdom is home to 37 licensed delivery firms, while an additional 100 operate in the light transport field, catering to orders weighing up to 3.5 million tons. As part of ongoing efforts to support this booming industry, the TGA has implemented regulations that will foster growth, improve service quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
Six new regulations specifically tailored to the order delivery sector have been issued by the TGA. These regulations will be gradually implemented starting in April of the current year, marking a crucial step toward standardizing and harmonizing the delivery sector.
The introduction of these regulations is expected to streamline operations, bolster consumer confidence, and create a more reliable and accountable delivery service ecosystem across the country.
As the demand for delivery services continues to soar in Saudi Arabia, these regulations will play a crucial role in shaping the industry and ensuring its future expansion. The TGA's proactive measures underscore its commitment to promoting a robust and efficient delivery sector that meets the evolving needs of consumers.
