Saudi Arabia's Transport and Logistics Launch Plan to Localize 23,000 Jobs in 28 Profession
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Ahmed bin Sufyan Al-Hassan, highlighted the tremendous support and attention given to the transport and logistics system by the wise leadership of Saudi Arabia. The efforts aim to achieve the goals set forth in the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics and Saudi Vision 2030.
During his participation in the third Qassim Youth Empowerment Forum, Al-Hassan emphasized a range of initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing employment prospects and developing the capabilities of the country's youth.
One notably successful initiative is the establishment of the Saudi Logistics Academy, which supports the growth of a promising logistics sector. This achievement aligns with the goals set in the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services, initiated by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The academy has already witnessed the graduation of 450 men and women, equipping them to contribute to the logistics industry and placing Saudi Arabia on the global map as a leading logistics center.
Al-Hassan further emphasized the opportunity for job localization within the sector. The transport and logistics system aims to localize 10,000 jobs in the heavy transport sector, 3,000 jobs in passenger transport, and an additional 10,000 jobs in the air transport sector. The focus is on localizing 28 different professions, providing valuable career opportunities for Saudi nationals.
Furthermore, the Saudi Railway Technical Institute plays a pivotal role in supporting and empowering the railway industry. The institute qualifies national talents in various fields such as train driving, maintenance, signals, and control. Graduates are subsequently employed in railway transport, bolstering the overall development of the sector.
This commitment to empowering youth and expanding job opportunities within the transport and logistics sector underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to achieving the goals set out in its ambitious Vision 2030. By investing in human capital and providing necessary training and qualifications, the country is laying a strong foundation for sustainable growth and success in this vital industry. The efforts to develop the transport and logistics sector not only contribute to economic growth but also create a brighter future for the young men and women of Saudi Arabia.
