Transportation And Logistics System Ready To Receive Pilgrims For 2024 Hajj Season

Makkah: Saudi Arabia is fully prepared to welcome pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj season, with a robust transportation and logistics system in place. Integral services have been organized across various entities to ensure seamless operations for the guests of God, whether by land, sea, or air.

To cater to the influx of pilgrims, the General Authority of Civil Aviation has made arrangements at six major airports. These include King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Medina, Taif International Airport in Taif, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Airport in Medina, and Abdul Mohsen International Airport in Yanbu. Moreover, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam has also been prepared. A total of 3.4 million seats have been allocated through 7,700 flights to accommodate Hajj travelers.

Airports Holding has completed preparations at 13 travel lounges across the six main airports. These lounges are specifically designed to receive pilgrims heading to the Holy Kaaba. Additionally, more than 21,000 male and female employees have been assigned to assist and serve the pilgrims. To facilitate travel procedures, the "Passenger Without Bag" service is available, allowing pilgrims to complete their travel preparations and luggage check-in 24 hours prior to their flight.

Saudi Airlines has made significant arrangements, offering over 1.2 million seats and allocating 150 aircraft to transport guests of God from different parts of the world. The SAR railways have prepared more than two thousand trips for the Holy Sites train, operating with 17 trains to facilitate movement between the 9 stations, including Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat.

In maritime operations, the General Ports Authority has allocated 448 employees to receive approximately 10,000 pilgrims at Jeddah Islamic Port. The port ensures smooth logistics services, proper handling of containers, and efficient reception of ships carrying guests of God. Additionally, services for handling gifts and sacrifices have been streamlined.

For land transport, the General Transport Authority has declared full readiness, with over 27,000 buses and 5,000 taxis available for pilgrim transportation. Sixteen public transport routes have been identified to facilitate their movement. The authority maintains close coordination with relevant entities to ensure the safety and efficiency of pilgrim transportation, utilizing technology such as the "Ajrah" application and initiatives for flow monitoring and virtual glasses.

Saudi Arabia is fully committed to providing a safe and comfortable Hajj experience, with comprehensive services catered to the needs of all pilgrims.
