Vistara Prepares For Last Take-Off Before Air India Merger
The merger of Vistara with Air India, which was announced in November 2022, will result in Singapore Airlines holding a 25.1% stake in the unified airline after the completion of the deal.
Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, is set to fully merge with Air India. Vistara Airlines will fly its final routes today before its merger. From Tuesday, November 12, all Vistara flights will officially operate under the Air India banner.
"As the plane ascends, so do our dreams; let’s glide toward the future, where the sky isn’t the limit, but just the beginning," said the airline in a post on X on Monday. According to the Moneycontrol report, the last domestic run of Vistara will be a Mumbai-Delhi flight, taking off from Mumbai airport at 10.50 pm on November 11, while its last foreign voyage will be a New Delhi-Singapore flight, departing at 11.45 pm on the same day.
The report also says that Air India expects to serve around 1,15,000 passengers who had pre-booked on Vistara in the first month post-merger. The integrated entity will have a fleet of more than 200 aircraft, providing connectivity to 90 domestic and international destinations.
