Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said that striker Kylian Mbappe is "down" but has the determination to come through a difficult period. Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain in July, has struggled for form since arriving at the Bernabeu.

The 25-year-old has scored eight goals in 15 appearances for the La Liga club. However, the France forward has only netted once in his past five games. "Mbappe is down like everyone else, but motivated to get through this moment," Ancelotti said during a news conference, as quoted by the BBC. "The problem he's having is everyone's problem. You could point at Vinicius, Rodrygo or Bellingham. It is a difficult moment for everyone," Real boss added.

Real Madrid were hammered 4-0 by rivals Barcelona at the end of October and are now nine points behind their great rivals in the league. Meanwhile, Mbappe was not named in France’s squad to face Israel and Italy in Nations League games, and Ancelotti declined to comment on the matter. "It's a matter for the national team coach and I have no right to judge his decisions. He made the decision and we have to accept it," Ancelotti said.
