Dubai Ruler Issues Decree Establishing Dubai Resilience Centre
The objective of the Centre is to make Dubai the world’s most agile city in dealing with various risks and emergencies.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a decree establishing the Dubai Resilience Centre, a new public entity that aims to reinforce the emirate's status as one of the world’s most agile cities in addressing risks, emergencies, crises, and disasters.
The decree grants the new entity the legal authority and capacity to implement actions and transactions necessary to fulfil its mandate. The objective of the Centre is to make Dubai the world’s most agile city in dealing with various risks, emergencies, crises, and disasters and ensuring it has the ability to take measures to prevent and address such events and ensure rapid recovery if they occur.
The Centre will develop simulations and scenario-based exercises for enhancing preparedness to deal with emergencies; document outcomes and lessons learned; and submit them to the Supreme Committee for approval, reported Emirates News Agency.
