Saudi Arabia Secures Top Spot In Arab Region In Quality Infrastructure For Sustainable Development Index 

The country has climbed 25 places compared to the 2022 index.

Saudi Arabia has secured the top position in both the Arab region and the Middle East and North Africa, and 20th globally, in the Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development Index (QI4SD) 2024, released biennially by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The country has climbed 25 places compared to the 2022 index.

Major elements of quality infrastructure assessed in this index encompass standards, metrology, standardization, accreditation, conformity assessment, and national policies. According to the Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Authority (SASO) Governor Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasbi has issued a statement and highlighted that the positions in the index mirror the national endeavors led by SASO in collaboration with the Saudi Accreditation Center and pertinent stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasbi also praised the evolution of Saudi Arabia's quality system and its impact on living standards, economic growth, and business operations, which have contributed to the country's advancements in global rankings.
