Sharjah has introduced the world’s first trade licence issued entirely through artificial intelligence (AI). This notable initiative, which was launched at the Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2024), enables entrepreneurs and investors to complete the entire licensing process in less than five minutes.

The new service will be available initially through the Sharjah Investor Services Center (Saeed) and SPC Free Zone. It enables investors and entrepreneurs to obtain their trade licences in less than five minutes. Other free zones across Sharjah will soon be included in the service's expansion. The new AI-powered licensing system in the emirate is set to improve the flexibility and efficiency of the business environment across sectors. The initiative will also strengthen Sharjah’s position as an important destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) and innovation.

Leading the way in incorporating technology into essential industries including logistics, healthcare, and agriculture, Sharjah ranks sixth globally in FDI project growth and fourth in the Gulf region for startup ecosystems, reported Emirates News Agency. The latest initiative is part of the emirate's broader vision to develop a more diversified economy and enhance a business climate conducive to sustainable growth, supporting its long-term development goals.
