In a significant move towards enhancing living standards and fostering community development, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, unveiled phase one of the North Bani Yas housing project. The inauguration ceremony marked the introduction of 1,365 new villas exclusively designated for UAE nationals, with a total value of AED3.1 billion. This development aligns with the directives of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

Named the Al Mizn Neighbourhood, the broader project spans an impressive 9.06 square kilometres. Upon completion, it will encompass 3,453 villas characterized by modern designs infused with Emirati heritage. The total investment for this ambitious initiative amounts to AED9.3 billion.

Designed to cater to diverse family sizes and preferences, the villas within phase one offer between five to six bedrooms, occupying areas ranging from 425 to 602 square metres per unit. Each villa is situated on spacious plots of 1,080 square metres, ensuring ample living space and comfort for residents. Noteworthy architectural diversity is introduced with 12 different facades, comprising 820 villas reflecting traditional aesthetics and 545 villas boasting contemporary designs.

Beyond residential units, the project incorporates essential community amenities, including 17 parks and recreational areas, a school, five commercial complexes, 15.5 kilometres of bicycle paths, and 89.48 kilometres of pedestrian walkways. This comprehensive approach underscores a commitment to creating integrated communities that prioritize the wellbeing of Emirati families.

During his visit to the site, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed the progress of the Al Mizn Neighbourhood project, emphasizing its adherence to high construction standards and the incorporation of designs tailored to Emirati families' needs. He underscored the project's role in nurturing a modern, sustainable urban environment that contributes to the nation's overarching development objectives.

Reflecting on the project's significance, Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, the Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, reiterated the government's commitment to providing high-quality housing solutions that elevate living standards and support family stability. He emphasized the Al Mizn Neighbourhood's contribution to the emirate's housing sector, highlighting its alignment with the leadership's vision for integrated, thriving communities.

Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of ADHA, said, "Abu Dhabi Housing Authority continues to work on several housing projects aimed at building modern integrated housing communities in Abu Dhabi emirate that meet the needs of our citizens. These initiatives align closely with Abu Dhabi Government’s vision to strengthen social cohesion, enhance the wellbeing and stability of families within the emirate, and meet the needs of citizens by providing high-quality housing."

Since its establishment in 2012, ADHA has played a pivotal role in developing government housing for UAE nationals in the Abu Dhabi emirate. Overseeing the allocation of residential plots, housing loans, and exemptions, the authority has significantly contributed to meeting citizens' housing needs, amounting to over AED149 billion in benefits to date.
